What are the capabilities of the hiv test?
The HIV test can detect antibodies to HIV 1 and 2 in whole blood and serum samples.The self testing kits are a single use rapid device. Please note that although positive results can indicate infection the HIV-1 or HIV-2 virus, an HIV test following performed by a qualified medical professional is advised.

How long should I wait before I get tested for HIV?
HIV tests are antibody tests measuring the antibodies the body makes against HIV 1+2. It can take a while for the immune system to produce enough antibodies for the test to detect and this varies from person to person.Often named the "window period". Most people will develop detectable antibodies within 2 to 8 weeks (the average is 25 days).
Does this hiv test detect HIV sub type A / E?
Yes. The tests are designed to check for both HIV 1 and HIV 2 in the bloodstream. Subtypes E and A fall under the HIV 1 strain and are therefore detected by our HIV testing kits.
Is my privacy protected?
The HIV test is sent to you in plain packages that do not contain any indication of the contents within. Only the the receivers address is displayed.
